It's been a while.

It has been .. too long .. since my last post. I admit , i've been lazy about it.
BUT , the filmmaking side of things hasn't stood completely still. I have my script ready for two different short films. One about time travel , the other a zombie apocalypse (or something like that). I have also been playing around with my HV30 camera , trying to get the results i expected when I bought it. I'm getting there slowly although i wish it was a touch heavier. But some of the footage after some colour correction looks really good. It's a versatile beast.

BTW : Spring City Forum made it into a few festivals and even onto IMDB , which pleased me and the rest involved.

The Contraption

I had a script idea about 2 years ago that i started but never really fleshed out properly about a time-travelling contraption. The story revolves mostly around the relationship between two friends who accidentally invent a time machine. Hmmm , vague I know!

Anyway , it looks like it will be my next short film project .... I've always liked time travel films , and although this one won't have a DeLorean or anything like that ... I hope it will be interesting.

MIssion Complete - The Film Is Done.

And so , the long journey ends. My short film Spring City Forum is now complete and ready to be viewed, praised, bashed and hopefully enjoyed.
My thanks go to the cast for their time , Dave Adams for his invaluable help and Claire for the BLT sandwiches half way through the shoot.
It has taken a while to complete for one reason or another but I am pleased with it.
And so on to the next thing ...... which will more than likely be a short about time-travel. One thing is for certain though , i shan't be making another 'complete green screen' film any time soon , it's just too painful!

If you like the film and think to yourself 'I'd like to have a go at being in something' then get in touch with me .... go on , you know you want to :)

Spring City Forum - How It's Done (Tutorial Video)

This video hopefully answers the question 'How did you get the mono colour effect in your film?'. Software used : Apple Motion (with Primatte Keyer Pro), Sketchup and Kerkythea.

New Music Vid ....

Here's a vid I have made for a tune I wrote earlier this year during my 'Mint Royale' revival period ... or something like that anyway :() It's called 'A Leg To Stand On'

The tune is made from loops I created in Ableton Live with my trusty Telecaster guitar and Fender Precision Bass. Also , the drums and keys were done with Reason, which is a great music app.

The visuals were created with Apple Motion using their new audio behaviours .... Hope you like the tune.

And now for something completely different.

Well , kind of. OK, here is the deal. There comes a time in every filmmaker's life (well, some) when the urge to make a zombie flick becomes uncontrollable. That time has come for me. I have watched a few short movies on the net and they are inspiring in many ways.....and I have had an idea for a story for a while now but always thought better of it because it's a bit cliche to do anything zombie-fied... (isn't it?)

But, after a chat to my mate Dave and also KPac, I have decided to get it out of my system and go for it. All I can say is, I reckon it is gonna be great (but then i would say that!).

So, I have a script I am really happy with and most of a storyboard sketched out ....

First step is rounding up people to be in it .... if you know me , please get in touch if you want to be in it as a zombie.

Red City Forum - An insight to how it was made

Well , here is my new film Red City Forum in all (almost) it's glory. This version has the complete video and soundtrack but is minus the dialogue as that has yet to be added by the actors....soon , i promise! :)
This version also has the original green screen footage running alongside it so you can see how it looked originally before all the digital pokery.

Enjoy ... the full version is around the corner :)
